Nick Zagaros
Owner / President
Nick Zagaros is the co-founder of JZ Electric. Most of his time is dedicated to estimating and design of projects for the customers of JZ Electric, he brings extensive electrical experience and a developed understanding of customer service to the business. Prior to beginning JZ Electric in 2004, Nick studied Electrical Construction and Maintenance at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Nick holds the company’s license as Master Electrician and serves as a trusted lighting consultant, guiding clients with both precision and vision. Outside of work he enjoys cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and spending time with his wife, Kim, three children, and grandson.
Drew Johnson
Owner / Vice President
Drew is the co-founder of JZ Electric and plays a key role in shaping the company’s values and approach to service. Passionate about delivering a better customer experience, Drew’s way of leading is with open communication, quality work, and lasting client relationships. He’s known for his hands-on insight and the way he helps homeowners and contractors alike bring their visions to life. A graduate of Dunwoody College of Technology with a background in Electrical Construction and Maintenance, Drew brings both technical knowledge and a people-first mindset to every project. When he’s not working, you’ll find him on the golf course, in the woodshop, or enjoying time with his wife and two daughters.
Nick Hoff
Production Manager / Director of Operations
Nick joined JZ Electric in 2005 as an apprentice electrician. Bringing strong work ethic and exceptional mechanical problem solving skills to the company, Nick quickly was promoted through the system to his current position of Production Manager. Overseeing the production team as well as the electricians in the field, his industry expertise is next to none. Nick studied Electrical Construction and Maintenance at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, Minnesota and currently holds his master’s license. In his spare time, he enjoys working at his family farm in Hutchinson and living the RV life with wife and three kids.
Barb Cameron
Office Manager
Barb has been the friendly face and organizational anchor of JZ Electric since 2012, overseeing office operations and warmly welcoming clients. With over 20 years of prior experience in office management, she uses her skills to ensure everything runs seamlessly. Her strong organizational skills, upbeat attitude, and genuine care for others make her an invaluable part of the team. When she’s not keeping the office on point, Barb enjoys gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Ryan Nicolay
Project Manager
Ryan grew up learning the trade from his father at an early age, helping around the shop at age 14. He came on as a journeyman electrician back in 2012 and has continued to show his strong electrical and construction knowledge as well as taking initiative to improve the entire process of a project. He has a high level of organizational skills and attention to detail which he holds others in the company to that standard. Ryan has his master’s license and has moved into a project management position where he oversees field crews and projects from start to finish. His wisdom and genuine care make him a strong leader at JZ. Ryan enjoys camping, fishing, and being outdoors with his family.
Jarrett Gardner
Project Coordinator
Jarrett began his career with JZ in 2014 as an apprentice electrician after studying Electrical Construction and Maintenance at Dunwoody College of Technology. Over time, his hands-on experience and strong understanding of the trade led him into project coordination and material management. Skills he now uses to keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. Known for his upbeat attitude and can-do spirit, Jarrett is a go to resource for the entire JZ team. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his wife, Julia, tackling house projects, and spending time with their two energetic pups.
Kayla Marchand
Business Manager
Kayla graduated from the University of Minnesota and joined our team shortly after in 2015. As the Business Manager, Kayla is responsible for overseeing company financials, leads client relationships, and manages HR operations. She’s passionate about optimizing business operations and fostering a positive company culture. In her free time, Kayla enjoys exploring new places and spending quality time with her husband, Zack, and their two daughters.
Scott Johnson
Project Coordinator
With 25+ years of experience in the construction industry, Scott joined JZ Electric in 2018 to take on inside project management and coordination. With his ability to wrap his head around all jobs, Scott skillfully manages the schedule for all crews at JZ. Fielding questions, constantly updating the schedule, and billing jobs, he stays on his toes and busy all day long. Scott is the definition of a die-hard hockey fan/dad. Off the clock, he’s a devoted hockey dad and true Minnesota Wild fan, regularly cheering from the stands with his wife, Tawnia, spending time with his son, and proudly supporting his daughters in their college hockey careers.
Carson Jacobsen
Sales and Estimating
Carson joined the JZ team in 2022 after studying Construction Management at the University of Minnesota. With a quick learning curve and a can-do attitude, he’s made a big impact on our sales and estimating team. When he’s not working, you’ll likely find him on the golf course, attending sporting events, or spending time with friends and family.

With a Bachelor of Design in Architecture from the University of Minnesota, Nick joined JZ Electric in 2024. Eager to learn and grow, Nick is quickly expanding his expertise in the construction industry and has already become a thoughtful contributor to the team. Outside of work, he’s an avid sports fan who enjoys golfing, grilling, and spending time with friends and family.
